Thought for the Week – Engaging Your Buyer!

There are five stages to Following Your Buyer: identify, learn, help, engage, and understand. I get a lot of questions about engage and what it means.

I recently attended “Theater of the Mind”, an immersive experience created by David Byrne of Talking Heads fame and writer Mala Gaonkar. It is a blend of theater, dance, art, funhouse, history, some mental self-examination, and a little music all packed into one experience. It stimulates all five senses including smell and taste. And I have been thinking and talking about it for days, I still am. It was engaging!

That is the goal of engaging your buyer.

Does your marketing content capture and hold the full attention of your prospects?

Do you challenge your prospects in ways that cause them to question what they’re doing and seek something better for their business?

Do your potential buyers talk about your sales follow-up calls with their colleagues for days?

So, before you blast out that email which is no more than a replay of last year’s “visit-us-at-the-tradeshow” message with new dates, pause and think about how engaging it really is for your target audience.

I hope you have a great week!
