FROM THE EDITOR
What could be missing from your content marketing?
There is far more to content marketing than creating content. Before we blog, speak, record, and create supporting graphics, we must put adequate time into developing plans.
What do we want to accomplish with content marketing? Content marketing is the means of achieving a goal, it is not the goal.
Planning requires envisioning a desired end state, gaining a deep understanding of the situation we face, defining and assigning a set of synchronized activities, articulating success criteria and establishing methods to measure progress. For the best results, planning sessions should be intentional and require adequate headspace and clarity, all hard to achieve in the world of busy B2B marketers.
This edition of our newsletter is a brief immersion into content marketing and intended to be a stimulating recess from your busy day.
Wendy Jacobson, a content marketing laureate, is back with a great article on creating content for better business outcomes. Also included: the four essential elements for content marketing, how to establish goals for your content marketing, and how to determine topics for your content.
