THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK - Could AI be your next collaborative partner?

 

In a recent interview with Bloomberg, Ray Dalio, founder of asset management firm Bridgewater, described artificial intelligence (AI) as a collaborative partner.

 

I must admit that for many years I thought investors relied on hunches and crystal balls to support their decisions.  Of course, I was wrong! When Dalio founded Bridgewater, it was based on his belief in disciplined systems. For 25 years he wrote down his guiding principles, converted them to algorithms, which became decision rules, and then systems. He is excited about AI as a collaborative partner that can employ the systems he develops faster and with more capacity than the human mind. AI will work with him, not in place of him.

 

A vocal source of criticism about AI comes from B2B marketers and especially content creators that believe they will be replaced by the likes of ChatGPT. Rather than a threat, could AI be your collaborative partner?

 

AI-powered content creation not only has the capacity to create content, but content that is more aligned with what your target audiences care about.

 

AI can also help B2B marketers better understand the buyer’s journey being navigated by your target audiences. It will inform marketers to better personalize lead nurturing and follow-up. And it will deliver predictive analytics based on prospect engagement with content over time.

 

So, think of technology and especially AI as a way to move beyond subjective hunches, endless days of cold-calling, and sales forecasts based on hope.
