What will be the most important trend in B2B marketing for 2023?

 

This is the time of year when everyone likes to role out their thoughts on the next year. A search for 2023 B2B marketing trends delivers an overwhelming number of results.

 

Topics include sales enablement, intent data, content diversification, data supported decision-making, demand gen, quality SEO, building brand trust, user generated content, a digital-first strategy…and the list goes on. It is so long that if there are trend lines, they are indiscernible from all the noise.

 

The most important trend in 2023 will be the same as 2022 and for the preceding 100+ years: helping your buyer!

 

Regardless of strategies and tactics employed, focusing on a set of principles to help customers achieve their goals will always be the most effective approach for B2B solution providers.

 

Following, understanding, knowing, and helping your buyer doesn’t fit neatly into an elevator pitch. It requires a mindset transformation, one that subordinates the needs of the seller to the buyer. This “help-the-buyer” philosophy sounds counter-intuitive to those of us who were raised on “features and benefits” marketing pitches and an “always be closing” approach to sales.

 

However, helping your buyer it is the most important trend for B2B marketers, it always has been, and always will be.
